I originally trained in ecology and worked with local groups in the urban conservation movement. Through my own transformative experience of acupuncture treatment, I began studying at The College of Traditional Acupuncture, gaining my Licence to Practise in 1992.
The ancient wisdom of the Five Element Acupuncture system taught there shared many of principles of balance and holism basic to ecology, which appealed to my desire to look for the ‘bigger picture’ and the deeper processes which underlie it.
I went on to study TCM with John and Angie Hicks; humanistic psychology techniques at Spectrum; Tai Chi with the Rising Dragon School, Qi Gong with Wang Zhixing and TMW (Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing).
In 2004 I completed a Training in Mentoring course with Isobel Cosgrove and I continue to be part of her ongoing supervision group.
I run the Birmingham Traditional Acupuncture Centre with Sarah Watkins and Steve Lowe and I live in Herefordshire with my husband and have two grown up sons.
My work combines the two main traditional styles of acupuncture: Five Element and TCM.
I offer courses of acupuncture treatment for a wide range of conditions and for maintaining optimal health and well being. I teach TMW classes and one to one sessions and I also offer supervision/mentoring to acupuncture practitioners who wish to develop their practice through reflection and discussion in a supportive, non-hierarchical and empowering space.
