Lic Ac, BA(Hons), MBAcC
I initially trained for just over 3 years at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Leamington Spa [now based in Hatton, Warwickshire], which is one of Europe’s most established and widely respected acupuncture colleges. I graduated from there with a Licentiate in Acupuncture and a B.A. [Hons] in Acupuncture from Oxford Brookes University.
Since graduation, I have successfully completed a two-year course to integrate Five Element Acupuncture and TCM [Traditional Chinese Medicine], which gives me an extensive knowledge to draw from in my practice.
I studied and successfully completed a course in Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture under the personal guidance of Virginia Doran, M.S., Lic. Ac., L.M.T., who is a recognised leading practitioner and teacher in this specialist field.
Since experiencing a session of Zero Balancing [ZB], I have studied and attended several workshops. It felt so fantastic that I just had to find out more about it, and now enjoy being able to offer that experience to others alongside acupuncture.
I am a member of the Zita West network for Affiliated Acupuncturists. I have been trained in this unique holistic approach of trying to achieve optimum reproductive health. As affiliates, we receive regular training and updates, and use an ‘on-line’ forum to share our ‘in-practice’ experiences.
I am also able to offer discounts on many of Zita’s products and services.
I also use other forms of treatment together with acupuncture where appropriate including Moxibustion [moxa], Gua Sha, and Cupping. In addition, I often work together with my patients in making lifestyle recommendations to further their well-being, such as dietary advice, changes to work/leisure balance, exercise routines, etc.
Traditional Acupuncture has a history of thousands of years so there are always new things to learn. Consequently, I am actively involved in continual professional development and regularly attend post-graduate training courses and workshops.
I continue to feel blessed and honoured to work with many different individuals through my work as an acupuncturist and still find myself passionate and fascinated by oriental medicine.
Experience tells me that people can feel nervous about coming for acupuncture for the first time. If you’re unsure whether acupuncture could help you [I can remember going for my first acupuncture treatment!], I’m happy to chat either by phone or you are welcome to come along and meet me. I offer a free 15-minute appointment where you can ask questions and we can discuss the reason[s] you may be seeking treatment with acupuncture. Just call me to arrange.
